Accessibility Information

The following is a guide to the accessibility of each of the Morenish Mews accommodation units for persons who may have limited mobility.  It also describes the access from the property to Loch Tay.

Please note that the car park and access paths to the all of the accommodation units are surfaced with coarse gravel.

The access steps to the Kenmore Cottage are 20 yards (18 metres) from the nearest car park space. Five yards (4.5 m) of the access path are up a slight incline. The rest is flat. There are two steps (with handrail) up to the cottage patio. The higher step is 8.5 inches (22 cm). Once at the patio level, the exterior and interior of the cottage are at the same level. The bathroom has a combined bath and shower so one has to step into the bath to use the shower. The bath has built-in handrails on either side.

The access steps to the Killin Cottage are 45 yards (41metres) from the nearest car park space. Five yards (4.5 m) of the access path are up a slight incline. The rest is flat. There are four steps (with handrail) up to the cottage patio. The highest step is 9.5 inches (24 cm). Once at the patio level, the exterior and interior of the cottage are at the same level. The bathroom has a combined bath and shower so one has to step into the bath to use the shower. The bath has built-in handrails on either side.

Parking for the Coach House Apartment is on the gravel drive directly beside the patio access steps. There are two 6-inch (15 cm) steps to the patio with a railing to grasp on either side of the steps. The external patio and Coach House lounge are at the same level. From the lounge there are three 6-inch (15 cm) steps with handrail down to the kitchen / bedroom / bathroom level. The bathroom has a combined bath and shower so one has to step into the bath to use the shower. The bath has built-in handrails on either side. Once inside the bath, there is also a handrail on the wall. The Coach House Apartment is 50% larger than the two cottage accommodation units and therefore has more space within which to move about.

Morenish Mews owns a 300-metre (1,000 feet) stretch of rough ground along the shore of Loch Tay. The sandy beaches at the western end of the shoreline property are easily accessible.  From 15th March to 6th October guests can fish for trout, and coarse fishing is permitted throughout the year.

There are two possible access routes to the shore, both of which involve crossing 3 fields in which sheep graze. Both routes involve passing through a gate which can be very muddy as a result of animal traffic. The distance to the loch is 600 metres (just over one third of a mile) but the final part of the descent to the loch is down a steeply sloping field.  Morenish Mews sits 60 metres (200 feet) above Loch Tay so please be aware that the initial part of the return journey is quite a stiff climb.
